Homework Policy for Grades 5-8
- Students usually have one week to complete an assignment since Spanish class is held only once per week.
- Everything needed to complete the assignment will have already been taught and/or notes given.
- All necessary vocabulary is posted on the website.
- If a student is absent the day an assignment is due, the assignment needs to be handed in on the day he/she returns to school so as not to be considered late. Late assignments need to be brought to the computer lab and placed in the IN box.
- Late assignments will be accepted for one week after the due date. There is a 10% point deduction for late assignments. (Example: If a student scored 45 points but handed the assignment in late, 4.5 points would be deducted from the score.)Special circumstances will be considered if a student is absent for an extended period of time.
- Once the corrected papers from have been returned to the class, a student cannot earn any points for the assignment. I will still correct the paper to provide a reference for study, and note that the assignment was completed even though no points were earned.
- "I didn't get it" is not an acceptable excuse for not completing an assignment. Please ask for help before the due date.
- Students are welcome to email me via schoolnotes with questions about an assignment.
- If an assignment is announced in class but is not placed on schoolnotes (possibly through technical difficulties), the student is still responsible to complete the assignment.
- Papers handed in during the first quarter without a name will receive a one pt. deduction. In the second quarter a nameless paper is a 2 pt. deduction, and so on.
